Abia Govt to Pay First Phase of Veteran Actress Ngozi Nwosu’s Medical Bills

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved the payment of the first phase of the medical bills of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu following her public appeal for financial assistance to undergo multiple surgeries.

The intervention was announced by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Justice Okechukwu Martins, popularly known as JMartins, who disclosed that Governor Otti approved the initial payment to support the actress’s treatment.

Ngozi Nwosu, an Abia-born actress, recently revealed that she requires three surgeries and appealed to Nigerians for about ₦30 million to cover the cost of her medical treatment. Despite the governor’s intervention, JMartins urged well-meaning Nigerians to continue supporting the actress, noting that the government’s assistance covers only the first phase of the required medical expenses.

The governor’s gesture has been widely commended by supporters, who described it as a timely intervention for one of Nollywood’s most respected actresses as she battles her health challenges.
